Going through my years in school I have heard so much about this story, The Scarlet Letter. My cousins read it and friends as well. I also heard how it was a rather challenging book but turned out to be an amazing book. Just by reading the background information I got a clue as to what is in store. Its unbelievable how much the puritans controlled the people in their society. In the summary it stated that Hester was accused of committing Adultery because she was separated from her husband for two years, how could she have gotten pregnant? She is then forced to wear a red letter A for 'Adultery'. This is some what interesting because she does what everyone views as morally wrong. This secret between the two is carried on for 7 years, this really caught my attention.I have seen the movie 'Easy A' and thought it was pretty well produced. She went against what most everyone believes in. She acted like a total slut. Priceless.
Hopefully as we get into the book, i will be able to see how this point in time really was, and the similarities between Easy A and The Scarlet Letter.
